A getaway home located in the Florida Keys. Arranged simply, but rendered richly. Raised on pilotis to address hurricane surge protocol for new construction. The post-tensioned board-formed concrete slabs bring a seamless finish from interior to exterior. Great care was required in submerging lighting, hvac, and insulation into the post-tensioned concrete. A wild dunes-grass green roof aids in passive cooling. The site’s unique orientation permits the home to receive both sunrise and sunset views over the water.
